The very first female governor of Texas who held the post from 1925 to 1927 and again from 1932 to 1925. As Governor she helped set up the College or university of Houston like a four-year organization in 1933. She got her education from an exclusive Catholic college in Tx. Although she was a teetotaler herself, she compared Prohibition. Her spouse was briefly also the governor of Tx, but was trashed of workplace and forbidden to carry public office within the condition once again. Like her, Christine Todd Whitman broke floor for woman politicians in america.
