Milt Hinton

One of the better jazz bassists of his era who used Zutty Singleton as well as other popular jazz music artists from the 1920s. He discovered to try out bass, violin, and cello in college and, following a short period playing bass, he turned to dual bass. Being a freelance musician he caused Cab Calloway’s music group, with whom he created his slapping technique. He was created in Vicksburg, Mississippi. He caused Dizzy Gillespie and jointly they modernized Cab Calloway’s music for a fresh generation.
