Jazz designer, composer, and writer known for his longstanding cooperation with Dizzy Gillespie. He founded the Mike Longo Trio, an organization that would continue steadily to function for 42 years. He was musical movie director for the Dizzy Gillespie Quintet, pianist for the Dizzy Gillespie All-Star Music group, and he was with Gillespie on the night time Gillespie passed away in 1993.
