Biography

Brave Dutch resident who helped Anne Frank and her family hide from your Nazis during Globe Battle II. She held Anne Frank’s journal secure until Otto Frank came back from Auschwitz in 1945. She was created in Austria but joined foster treatment in HOLLAND at age group eleven. She received the Purchase of Merit from the Federal government Republic of Germany in 1994. She experienced a child with her spouse Jan Gies. She have been a function colleague of Otto Frank, whose family members she helped during Globe War II.

1 She rescued Anne Frank's diary, and kept it safe until after the war when she was able to hand it over to Anne's father, Otto Frank, who survived the war, and helped him compile them into a diary that was published in 1947.
2 Until her death in January 2010, she was the last survivor who helped Anne Frank, hide from the Nazis in WW2. She died of natural causes, in West-Friesland Netherlands, where she lived for years, at the age of 100. The premier of Israel, wrote an letter to Queen Beatrix, saying among other things, that it's a great loss.
3 Granted the title "Righteous Among the Nations" by Yad Vashem.
4 Got the first name "Miep" from her Dutch foster family
5 Helped (together with her husband) several Jews during the Holocaust in World War II, including Anne Frank and her family. Is Dutch. She was born in Austria, but was sent to Holland at the age of 11 because of the bad conditions in Austria.
6 13 July 1950: Son, Paul Gies, born.
7 Is Dutch (was sent there at the age of 11 to recover from malnutrition)
8 Used to live in Abbekerk, Noord-Holland, The Netherlands.
