Michael Strank

A Sea Sergeant during Globe Battle II, he was among the males in the famous picture, “Bringing up the Flag on Iwo Jima.” He offered in the Civilian Conservation Corps for eighteen weeks. He was the receiver of many honours, including a Crimson Center Medal. He was created in Jarabina but his family members moved to Pa before he offered in the Marines. Strank was performed by Barry Pepper in the film Flags of Our Fathers.
