Michael Nyman

Composer and pianist whose minimalist functions include film ratings, operas, concerti, and string quartets. He also going several bits of Chamber Music using the Michael Nyman Music group. In 2008 he received the Commander from the Order from the English Empire. He went to King’s University, London and later on trained in the Royal Academy of Music. He made up several operas, including Facing Goya, THE PERSON Who Mistook His Wife for any Hat, and Man and Boy: Dada, Like Matters. He and his wife, Aet Nyman, experienced two daughters, among whom (Molly Neiman) also became a composer. He made up the critically-acclaimed soundtrack of movie director Jane Campion’s 1993 film, The Piano.
