Michael Franks

Known for such single albums as Sleeping Gypsy, Tiger in the torrential rain, and Dragonfly Summer (all released in the Warner Brothers label), this California-born jazz vocalist and songwriter collaborated with such well-known musicians as Art Garfunkel and Patti Austin. He bought his first electric guitar when he was simply fourteen years of age and had written his first tracks while studying books at the College or university of California-Los Angeles (that he gained a bachelor’s level), the College or university of Oregon (M.A., 1968), as well as the College or university of Montreal (where he was a PhD pupil). His well-known singles consist of “When Sly Phone calls (Don’t Contact That Mobile phone),” “Popsicle Toes,” and “Rainy Evening in Tokyo.” He and his two sisters had been elevated in La Jolla, California, as the kids of Betty and Gerald Franks. Early in his profession, he constructed music for an anti-war theatrical creation, Anthems in E-Flat, that highlighted future Superstar Wars star Tag Hamill.
