Fifteen-time Grammy Award champion and Down Defeat Jazz Hall of Popularity inductee who was simply given an honorary level from Berklee University of Music. He performed saxophone in college and relocated to NEW YORK in 1969, where he got his 1st gig using the jazz rock-band Dreams. He was an associate of the Sunday Night Live music group in the 1980s. His wife was his supervisor and established bone tissue marrow drives to fight Brecker’s MDS. Brecker and Herbie Hancock had been very good friends and Hancock chanted a Buddhist mantra at Brecker’s funeral.
