Memphis Minnie

Blues guitarist and vocalist who recorded a lot more than two hundred tunes, including “Bumble Bee” and “Me personally and My Chauffeur Blues.” She worked well like a prostitute, and a musician, mainly because she had not been making enough cash only playing acoustic guitar. She and Kansas Joe McCoy released “Once the Levee Breaks” in 1929. She was the oldest of thirteen siblings. Her headstone was payed for by Bonnie Raitt.
