Maya van Wanegen

Teenager author known for the novel Popular, which chronicled her attempts to be popular in college in 8th grade. She began her social test after reading Betty Cornell’s Teen-Age Reputation Guide, that was released in 1953. Her publication was released by Penguin as well as the film rights had been bought by Dreamworks. She was raised in a Tx border city, but later transferred to Georgia. She’s two siblings. She made an appearance in the Today Present to market the reserve, where she was interviewed by Savannah Guthrie.
