Matthew Shipp

Avant-garde jazz pianist and bandleader who played within the edge between contemporary traditional jazz and free of charge jazz. He performed in rock rings in senior high school. He completely focused on jazz while going to the New Britain Conservatory of Music where he was trained by Dennis Sandole, John Coltrane’s saxophone trainer.
