Matthew Carter

British type designer who designed the first 1.0 fonts Verdana and Georgia. He was called a MacArthur Fellow this year 2010. He was originally likely to get a level in British at Oxford School but continued to intern on the Joh. Enschedé type foundry in holland rather. He also designed a logo design for the United kingdom magazine Private Eyesight in-may 1962. His dad was the British typographer Harry Carter. He made a typeface for Bell Phone Company called after phone inventor Alexander Graham Bell.
