Matt Murray


NHL goaltender who led the Pittsburgh Penguins towards the 2015-2016 Stanley Glass title being a first year. He was thrust in to the limelight after a personal injury to Marc-Andre Fleury and proceeded to connect a first year record by earning 15 video games in the Stanley Glass playoffs. He performed main junior hockey using the Soo Greyhounds from the Ontario Hockey Group. He was used 83rd overall with the Penguins in the 2012 NHL Draft. He established an AHL record in 2014-2015 using a shutout streak greater than 300 a few minutes and was called the league’s First year of the entire year. He only acquired 13 career begins in the NHL when he became the Penguins’ playoff beginner. He’s of Scottish and Dutch descent. Teammate Sidney Crosby was honored the Conn Smythe Trophy following the 2016 playoffs.
