Mary Lee Settle

A twentieth-century American writer, she is most widely known on her behalf Beulah Quintet of novels. The series contains Prisons; O Beulah Property; Know Nothing at all; The Scapegoat; as well as the Killing Surface. She trained at Bard University, the Iowa Authors’ Workshop, as well as the School of Virginia. She was a creator of the annual Pencil/Faulkner Prize for Fiction. She wedded William L.
