Mark Fidrych

2-period All-Star pitcher for the Detroit Tigers from 1976 to 1980; earned the 1976 American Group Rookie of the entire year Award after leading the MLB in Period; profession was shortened because of accidents. He was a 10th circular pick from the Tigers in 1974 after stellar professions at Algonquin Regional SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL in Massachusetts and Worcester Academy. His high stature, lanky body, and funny persona (he frequently spoken to his baseballs) gained him the nickname of “The Parrot,” following the “Sesame Road” personality, Big Parrot. He and his wife, Ann, got a daughter called Jessica. He was the 1976 runner-up for the Cy Youthful honor, that was ultimately honored to Jim Palmer.
