She became known on her behalf part as Ma Kettle in 10 installments in the Ma and Pa Kettle film franchise. She worked well in vaudeville and produced her Broadway debut in 1916. She was regularly cast in difficult, domineering roles, just like the Dude Ranch operator in 1939’s THE LADIES. She was wedded to Stanley LeFevre Krebs until his loss of life in 1935. She co-starred with Joan Crawford in the traditional film THE LADIES.
