Mari Sandoz

An American novelist, biographer, and teacher, she wrote extensively on the subject of pioneer life as well as the Plains Indians. Her books and nonfiction functions include Cheyenne Fall months; The Beaver Males; Slogum Home; and Aged Jules. She got the rural educators’ examination and trained in country universities. Later, she worked well for the Nebraska Condition Historical Culture. She released a 1942 biography of Crazy Equine, the popular Lakota tribal innovator. She and her five siblings had been created in Nebraska to Swiss immigrant parents. She was briefly wedded to Wray Macumber. She and Juanita Brooks both had written about pioneer existence.
