Margarita Fischer

Leading woman of silent film era classics who starred in How Men Propose as well as the three-reeler film Uncle Tom’s Cabin. She started acting in a number of significant onstage productions, ultimately forming her very own traveling stock firm. Falling the C from her last name managed to get sound much less German to American viewers. She inserted Hollywood in images using the American Firm, later shifting to General. She was created in Missouri Valley, Iowa. She and her movie director husband sought to regenerate her career using a luxurious film creation of Harriet Beecher Stowe’s Uncle Tom’s Cabin, which became perhaps one of the most costly flops of this.
