A twentieth-century American novelist, she actually is most widely known for The Able McLaughlins, The Kenworthys, The Painted Space, and REGULATIONS as well as the McLaughlins. She was a missionary within the service from the United Presbyterian Chapel of THE UNITED STATES. Her book, The Capable McLaughlins, received the Pulitzer Reward for Fiction. She wedded George Douglas Turner in 1923. Graham Greene was an admirer of her function.
