Major Holley

Jazz bassist from Detroit, Michigan who all played with a few of the most revered bandleaders of his period, including Duke Ellington and Dexter Gordon. He was also a music instructor on the Berklee University of Music. He went to the well-known Cass Technical SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL before portion in the U.S. Navy. He was famous for his usage of a bow, also called an arco, during his bass solos. He was wedded to Minee Aitcheson. He was a sideman to Frank Sinatra through the recording from the crooner’s 1984 record “L.A. Is normally My Female.”
