Hall of Popularity WWE wrestler who became the initial pro wrestler to compete in 9 different decades throughout a profession that began before WW II. In the 1940s she teamed up with women’s wrestling superstar Mildred Burke in acquiring wrestling to Canada. In the WWE she frequently teamed up with her friend and another longtime wrestler, The Fabulous Moolah. She was raised understanding how to wrestle from her four old brothers. In the 1940s she and Mildred Burke caused the daddy of potential WWE superstars Bret Hart and Owen Hart.

1She grew up playing football, softball, and other sports, and had an interest in wrestling. In her teens, she was coached by 'Ed "Strangler' Lewis', a champion wrestler of the 1920s and '30s, who taught her a variety of holds and moves.
2Has now signed a short term contract with WWE along with Lillian 'Moolah' Ellison. [August 2005]

5Was once power-bombed off the WWE RAW stage through multiple tables by Bubba Ray Dudley. At first, Bubba didn't want to do the stunt because he was afraid of injuring a woman of Mae's age, but Mae slapped him across the face and told him to treat her like one of the guys.
6She was the female Gorgeous George in the 1950s, complete with her own valet.
7Mae and Moolah ran a wrestling school together before they made their comeback in 2000.
