She received the Washington Condition Book Prize for poetry to get a 2006 collection entitled Spectral Waves. She received levels from Marylhurst University and the College or university of Oregon. She released her debut poetry collection, Through the Darkroom, in 1964. She became a member of the Catholic Sisterhood in 1936 and passed the name Sister Mary Gilbert until 1973. She was created and elevated in Oregon. She afterwards trained in the Pacific College or university graduate creative composing plan in her house condition. She was a modern of fellow American poet Amy Clampitt.
