She was the wife of Alexander Graham Bell, the inventor of calling. She was also the little girl of Gardiner Greene Hubbard, the initial president from the Bell Phone Firm. She became deaf from a significant case of scarlet fever when she was four years of age which motivated her dad to open up the first dental college for the deaf in america.
