Lynda Benglis

American sculptor who produced wax paintings and poured latex sculptures. She explored feminine identification and self-representation. She gained a BFA from Newcomb University and then transferred to NY in 1964. She posed with a big dildo, wearing just a set of sun shades for Artforum newspaper. Her parents elevated her in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Her approach to pouring latex continues to be set alongside the method Jackson Pollock decorated.
