Lou Criger

Catcher for the legendary Cy Small, from your Cleveland Spiders towards the Boston Crimson Sox, he sat at the rear of the plate for some of Young’s wins. He performed in the small leagues for Elkhart Lakeviews and in the Michigan Condition League’s Kalamazoo Kazoos. Though by no means an excellent hitter, he previously a dazzling tossing arm, and a detailed romantic relationship with Cy Youthful got him to capture Young’s perfect video game in 1904 and his no-hitter in 1908. He was created in Elkhart, Indiana, his dad Charles Criger originally from Mecklenburg, Germany. He was behind the dish for Cy Young’s incredible 20-inning work against Rube Waddell on Self-reliance Day time of 1905.
