Lorenzo Bartolini

Italian sculptor who mixed his neoclassicism with naturalistic detail and Romanticism. He sculpted Nymph as well as the Scorpion. He visited Paris where he researched painting under Frédéric Desmarais and sculpture under François-Frédéric Lemot. He’s most widely known for his busts Charity, the Hercules and Lichas, and Trust in God. His parents elevated him in Vernio, Italy. Napoleon Bonaparte was his most constant patron.
