Remembered top for his role as Gort the robot in the 1951 science fiction movie YOUR DAY the planet earth Stood Even now, Martin can be notable for playing the Giant in a number of scenes which were later on deleted through the 1957 movie The Incredible Shrinking Man. Before getting ensemble as Gort, he manned the entranceway at Grauman’s Chinese language Movie theater in Hollywood. Though he was more than seven feet high, he had not been terribly solid and, partly due to his cumbersome automatic robot costume, was struggling to lift celebrity Patricia Neal within a picture in YOUR DAY the planet earth Stood Still. Given birth to Joseph Lockard Martin, Jr., he was raised in Pa and later resided and worked well in LA, California. For the ultimate 10 years of his short existence, he was wedded to Ethel Babcock. He and Michael Rennie had been both in the solid of YOUR DAY the planet earth Stood Still.
