Lewis Waterman

New York-born entrepreneur who invented the capillary fountain pen and established the Waterman Pencil Company. He opened up his pencil business in 1883, twelve months before finding a patent for his now-famous fountain pencil. His ingenuity expanded beyond the invention of fountain pens: he also devised a way of condensing grape juice. He was raised in Otsego State, NY and passed away in NEW YORK. Upon his loss of life, his nephew Frank D. Waterman going the Waterman Pencil Company. Mechanised pencil inventor Slavoljub Eduard Penkala devised a afterwards, solid-ink version from the fountain pencil.
