Documentary film director known for his portraits of such American musicians as Dizzy Gillespie and Sam Lightnin’ Hopkins and their particular musical genres. He also produced two movies about the life span of German movie director Werner Herzog. He gained degrees in British and movie theater from Tulane School in New Orleans, Louisiana. He set up a production firm called Flower Movies. He was raised in Florida and Massachusetts, and he afterwards resolved in central California. He aimed a 1965 documentary about jazz musician Dizzy Gillespie.
