Les Barker

English poet known for his comic poems and his musical parody performances. His several canine-themed poetic functions consist of Bark Odes, Collieflowers, Rover the Rainbow, and Beagles, Bangles and Beads. He analyzed to become an accountant before going after literary and music professions. His poem “Guideline Pet cats for the Blind” influenced some computer applications for the aesthetically impaired. His folk group, the Mrs. Ackroyd Music group, was called after his much loved doggie. He and composer Stephen Sondheim both included the absurdly lengthy name of the Welsh city –Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantisiliogogogoch — in the lyrics of the song.
