Leroy Robertson

Mormon composer and instructor most widely known for compositions like Music from the Darkness. He was Teacher and Chairman from the Music Section at BYU from 1925 to 1948. He graduated with diplomas in Structure, Violin, and Piano from the brand new Britain Conservatory of Music in 1923. The Lord’s Prayer from his Oratorio in the Reserve of Mormon were able to crack the very best 50 in the music graphs upon its discharge. His daughter is certainly reputed cellist Marian Robertson Wilson. He and fellow composer Roger Periods both understood and examined with composer Ernest Bloch.
