American poet, author, editor, and seventh USA Poet Laureate. Her poetry series consist of This Measure, Midsummer, as well as the Bollingen Prize-winning Poems: A RANGE. Her initial poetry collection, Those Not really Elect, was released when she was an adolescent. She once distributed tea with Gertrude Stein in Paris. She wedded William Troy, a teacher and fellow article writer, in 1933. She was the friend and Barnard University roommate of American anthropologist Margaret Mead.
