German swimmer who became the very first woman to gain six silver medals at an individual Olympic Video games in 1988 in Seoul. She started training at age 10, swimming on the East German sports activities academy. She was under great speculation of using functionality enhancing drugs and also other East German sportsmen but she stated she was hardly ever aware of getting given medications by doctors. Her mom was a physiotherapist and her dad a physics teacher. She won silver on the 1988 Olympics where American diver Greg Louganis also had taken home the silver.
