Biography

Compton-based rapper known for his introspective lyrical style who initial gained vital acclaim for his 2011 album Section.80. His third record, 2015’s To Pimp a Butterfly, helped him receive a wider market, resulting in seven Grammy Honours between 2015 and 2016. He released his initial mixtape at age sixteen, eight years after viewing Tupac and Dr. Dre’s music video “California Like” for the very first time. His second record, Good Child, M.A.A.D. Town, won the prize for Record of the entire year on the 2013 Wager Hip Hop Honours and reached #2 over the U.S. graphs. He provides five siblings, and stated his parents elevated him to truly have a socially mindful worldview. In 2015, he got involved to his senior high school sweetheart Whitney Alford. He provides collaborated with Dr. Dre on many music, including “The Formula.”
