He was employed by Artwork Blakey for the Jazz Messengers after he transferred to NEW YORK. His first single piano record was Facing You from 1971, that was accompanied by Staircase in 1976, The Moth as well as the Fire from 1981, and many others. He was a musical prodigy as a kid who was simply known for his overall pitch. He began learning piano at three, acquired his initial recital at age group seven, and in addition appeared on the TV talent display. He received the Léonie Sonning Music Award in 2004, getting the next jazzman behind Mls Davis to get the honor.
