Kathleen Battle

Lyric soprano who was simply perhaps one of the most well-known BLACK opera singers in the 1970s to the first 1990s. She was functioning as a 6th grade music instructor when she gained her first main choir single. She gained a 1992 Emmy Prize for Outstanding Person Accomplishment in Classical Music. She was raised in Porstmouth, Ohio with six old siblings. She became a member of Ella Fitzgerald as an associate from the NAACP Hall of Popularity in 1999.
