He was known as to testify prior to the Home Un-American Actions Committee like a suspected Communist sympathizer. Later on he cannot find function in Hollywood, therefore he made a decision to look for refuge in Britain. He spent the majority of his creative existence in self-imposed exile in Britain, and his movies naturally took around the firmness of outsiders searching in and of a global cruel and uncaring.
