Joseph Lister

British surgeon who pioneered the usage of antiseptics in surgery. He concluded, after critiquing study on disease-causing microorganisms, that wounds have to be disinfected. He was raised in Essex as the child of the Quaker scientist. He found that carbolic acidity was a highly effective disinfectant and forced for its common use. He wedded the child of his friend and coach Wayne Syme. Louis Pasteur’s study provided the building blocks for a lot of Lister’s work.
