An American fiction writer and poet, he’s most widely known for his crime novel series featuring the openly gay personal eye, Dave Brandstetter. Beneath the pencil name of Rose Brock, he also had written a duo of gothic books. He released his 1st poem in THE BRAND NEW Yorker in 1952. 2 decades later on, he released his 1st Dave Brandstetter book, Fadeout. He occasionally wrote beneath the pseudonym of Wayne Colton (alt.: Wayne Coulton). He was gay and got many long-term male enthusiasts while he was wedded to his lesbian wife, Jane Bancroft. In 1943, he and Bancroft got one daughter collectively. He and Dorothy Parker both added to THE BRAND NEW Yorker.
