Jose Bragato

Argentinian cellist, composer, arranger, and musical archivist who was simply a prominent figure in the 1950s Fresh Tango movement. He and fellow musician Lucio Milena founded the Route 13 Orchestra. He emigrated from Italy to Argentina in 1927 when he was 12 yrs . old, but was pressured to go to Brazil in 1976 to flee Argentina’s armed service dictatorship. He became called an professional arranger of Paraguayan folk music, learning guaranias and polkas. His dad and his father’s old brother had been both flautists. He offered his last single overall performance when he was 80, associated Julio Bocca alongside the Atilio Stampone ensemble at New York’s Radio Town Music Hall.
