American singer and multi-instrumentalist most widely known as the frontman for the American indie rock-band Shearwater. He’s also a reputed article writer, having penned content on a number of topics for magazines just like the Believer as well as the Talkhouse. He spent a lot of his youth surviving in Raleigh, NEW YORK. In university, he gained a fellowship which allowed him to review life in remote control regions of countries like New Zealand and Australia. He’s interested in birdwatching. Shearwater’s name, aswell as much of its melody and album game titles, are personal references to wild birds. He once was married to previous Shearwater bassist Kimberly Burke. He teamed up with Xiu Xiu’s Jamie Stewart to create the side task Blue Water Light Death this year 2010.
