Cajun singer and guitarist well-known for as an originator the genre which had become referred to as “swamp pop.” A few of his best-known strikes include “Depressed Days, Lonely Evenings” and a cover of Merle Haggard’s “Someplace on Skid Row.” He was motivated to play rock and roll music after viewing Elvis Presley perform on tv in 1956.
