John Sutter

Swiss pioneer from the California Yellow metal Rush who’s known for establishing Sutter’s Mill and Sutter’s fort close to present-day Sacramento. He continues to be presented in both film and books, and his home in Pennsylvania produced the Country wide Register of Historical Locations in 1982. He went to college in Switzerland and became captain from the artillery in the Swiss Military. He relocated to america in 1834. After he founded Sutter’s Fort, he was a supporter of an unbiased California republic, but didn’t withstand when the fort was seized from the U.S. He wedded Annette Düstrong in 1826 and experienced five kids. Dan Fogelberg published a track about his efforts known as “Sutter’s Mill.”
