American painter, portrait artist, and muralist whose best-known works included “Family portrait of Madame X” and “Un Jaleo.” He was respected for his depictions from the luxuries from the Edwardian period. He demonstrated a childhood curiosity about art and frequently copied the drawings he within The Illustrated London Information. He studied beneath the famed Carolus-Duran and in addition passed the test that accepted him in to the École des Beaux-Arts. His “Family portrait of Madame X” was therefore controversial it derailed his portraiture profession in Paris. He was created to American expatriate parents FitzWilliam Sargent, a watch physician, and Mary Vocalist. His delivery happened in Italy because his family members was forced to avoid there due to a cholera epidemic. He significantly admired the functions of Michelangelo , Titian, and Tintoretto.
