American industrialist from Lafayette, Indiana, who was simply the principal and first benefactor of Purdue College or university. He requested that Purdue college or university be situated in Fight Ground which his called was connected with it. He proved helpful as a college instructor around Ohio and perhaps in Michigan. He opened up a dry items business in Lafayette in 1839. He under no circumstances married and got no heirs. He funded Purdue College or university, where comedian Jim Gaffigan researched.
