Screenwriter who all adapted the screenplay for the 1953 film The Crazy One and who was simply nominated for an Oscar for his adapted screenplay for the 1947 film Crossfire. He proved helpful being a journalist and publicist before learning to be a screenwriter. In 1971, he gained a Golden World for Greatest Screenplay for the film Kotch. His nephew was the comic reserve article writer Ed Brubaker. Professional Marlon Brando starred in his version of The Crazy One.
