John Joly

Renowned for his pioneering usage of radiation therapy to take care of cancer, this past due 19th and early 20th-century physicist and geologist can be kept in mind for his groundbreaking radium dating approach to looking into geological data. He collaborated with nuclear physicist Ernest Rutherford on the 1913 geologic analysis that demonstrated the Devonian period to have already been at least 400 million years before.
