New York-born poet who earned a Bollingen Prize for the 1983 poetry collection entitled Power of Thirteen. His many other literary functions consist of Harp Lake, The Untuning from the Sky, and Stories Told from the Fathers. He went to Columbia School. He released his debut poetry collection, A Crackling of Thorns, in 1958. He proved helpful as an editorial associate for The Partisan Review. He and initial wife Anne Loesser acquired one little girl before divorcing in 1977. Hollander afterwards wedded Natalie Charkow. He was inspired by the task of W.H. Auden.
