John Gielgud

Prolific English actor who played out Hamlet more than 500 times and had the distinction of successful an Oscar, Emmy, Grammy, and Tony Award. He originated from a long type of stars, and his 1st stage experiences included playing Shylock and Humpty Dumpty before finding a scholarship or grant to Westminster college in London. He was knighted in 1953, became a Friend of Honour in 1977, and was accepted towards the Purchase of Merit in 1996, fifteen years after earning the Oscar for Greatest Supporting Acting professional for his efficiency in Arthur. His longtime partner Martin Hensler passed away in 1998, just 16 weeks before his personal loss of life.
