Confessional poet who’s remembered for his 1969 work, The Dream Tunes, which attained him a Pulitzer Prize. His additional works consist of His Plaything, His Desire, His Rest; The Dispossessed; and Delusions, Etc. He grew up in Oklahoma and Florida with a banker dad and a schoolteacher mom. When Berryman was twelve years of age, his dad dedicated suicide. He trained at Harvard, Princeton, and Dark brown, among other colleges. He experienced from alcoholism and experienced three turbulent relationships. He wiped out himself in 1972 by jumping from a Minneapolis bridge. He published a biography of writer Stephen Crane.
